Good morning! I am going to be on Living Dayton this morning making two great Sloppy Joe recipes! One is to help families move away from processed foods, and the other is a clean version and take on a Philly cheesesteak! Both are great recipes for busy nights and to make for all of your March Madness parties too!

Sloppy Joes (from Sarah Manaresi’s Kitchen)

Ingredients
1 pound 85/15 lean ground beef or ground turkey
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon yellow mustard (or 2 tsp if want the recipe to be less sweet)
3/4 cup ketchup
3 teaspoons brown sugar (or 2 tsp if want the recipe to be less sweet)
salt and pepper to taste
1 bag of Klosterman Honey Hamburger Buns
water (optional)

Instructions

Over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onion in a medium-sized skillet. Drain off extra liquid.

Stir in the brown sugar, garlic powder, ketchup and mustard. Mix well. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Add water towards the end if mixture seems a little dry. Season with salt and pepper.

To serve, place a scoopful of the meat mixture on the bottom of the Klostern Honey Hamburger Bun and add the top of the bun.

Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes (adapted from Sarah Manaresi’s Kitchen)

1 pound ground turkey (or 85/15 ground beef)
olive oil (only if using a non-stick pan)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 sweet onion, sliced thin
1 green pepper sliced thin
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp. ketchup
Klosterman Buns, toasted
sliced provolone cheese

Instructions

In large skillet over medium-high heat add the olive oil, brown the meat, about 5-6 minutes. Add the onion, mushrooms and green pepper, cooking another 5-10 minutes until the onions start to become tender. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and ketchup. Season with pepper, then bring up to a bubble and cook about 5 minutes.

To serve, place a scoopful of the meat and pepper mixture on the bottom of the slider buns, then top with provolone cheese and add the top of the bun.
